With all the studies done and all the scientific evidences on the danger smoking posed to our overall health, there is no reason why smokers and those still planning to join the club must never be warned of the fatal problems associated by the habit.

Additionally, cigarettes contain many other constituents which most smokers don’t care about. We could zero in with at least seven most important and potent carcinogens like Aminobiphenyl, 2-Naphthylamine, N-Nitrosodiethylamine, N-Nitrosopyrrolidine, N-Nitrosodiethanolamine, Chromium and Cadmium.

Unfortunately, the list goes on and on. Other more components include hydrogen cyanide, lead, ammonia and carbon monoxide all responsible for respiratory related diseases as well as problems in the fingers, ankles and wrists. These are also known to negatively impact the brain functioning, upset blood cell production and distress the male reproductive system, promote hearing and color vision damages and many more non-pleasing effects that one body can not be able to bear.

People are now gradually realizing that working out to add lean muscle mass to the body increases not only the metabolism but also the fat loss leading to the body becoming a fat burning machine.

For sure, living your life in a healthy way can give you many other benefits.

We will discuss today how you can use intensity, volume and frequency and progression to lose weight and keep it off for good.

Health aficionados that I encounter exercising at fitness gyms doing weight training or resistance training are mostly a lot of their time with the exercise but if you check it they are not working hard enough. The use of a low intensity workout is a guarantee that you will burn a small amount of fat.

The best way to train for lean muscle and strength is the right application of three vital elements. The secret I found is that the proper use of the three vital elements is necessary in the training for lean muscle and strength. This secret is quite often overlooked by the people who try it. These three elements are:

1. Intensity

2. Volume & Frequency

3. Progression

The intensity is defined as the level of difficulty it is to perform for you given your existing physical condition. On the other hand, the volume and frequency referred to how much weight you use and how many times you execute the exercise. And lastly, progression is established by how much the demands go higher from one workout session to another.

You will become a fat burning machine with these three key elements. This system will take you from starting to lose weight to learning how to keep the weight off on permanent basis.

It is very vital that you do not workout for too long or schedule your workouts for too many times per week.

There are two entirely different forms of exercise which consists of the fat burning aerobic and the anaerobic exercise. In application and function, they are entirely opposite. Aerobic exercise can be described as high volume and high frequency, low to moderate intensity, and not so much progression. On the other hand, anaerobic exercise, or weight training, must be done on high intensity but lower volume as well as lower frequency together with progression making it more effective. Take note that the one surefire way to become a fat burning machine is through an anaerobic exercise.

Surely, it would be nearly impossible to develop your strength or your muscle building for more than a few short weeks if you are only doing weight training at a low level or moderate intensity.

There is a combination of two goals using sufficient intensity together with increasing the number of reps of a weight training exercise or the amount of weight used in each and every workout. This will catapult your body to become an ultimate fat burning machine.

When you are creating an effective and efficient workout routine for maximizing your workout and minimizing the time spent in the gym remember to pay attention to the details. Why? The workout is perhaps not as important as the rest period that follows. If you want to get stronger or increase your muscles you need to get enough rest and sufficient sleep.

When doing strength training in appropriate way, you will be undergoing minute injuries to your muscles. When you allow your body to rejuvenate and heal itself, it will compensate more and increase the amount of muscle that you have.

Working out again before that process ended leads to dull results. Your muscles are overworked making it not responding to your workout anymore.

Make sure that you rest in between the workouts — a minimum of 1 to 3 full days of rest between properly executed resistance workouts.

A lot of women are into the idea that by adding muscle to your body which ensures that you will become a fat burning machine will result into a bigger body when they should have been losing weight.

This is entirely false. This is very unlikely to ever happen. It is just unfortunate that countless women are losing out on these fat burning benefits because of this thinking.

We should understand that majority of people simply lack the needed genetic makeup necessary to produce the muscle gain that would cause them to look bulky or even overly developed.  Muscle fiber makeup, muscle belly length, testosterone levels are some of the traits here affecting the over-all story.

The bodybuilders that you love to watch on TV and magazines are doing their thing for competition. They belong to the cream of the crop in muscle development and could probably be using large doses of anabolic steroids, growth hormones and other bodybuilding formulas.

Never believe on the images projected on the screen. Did you know that lean muscle takes up less space on your body and is more compact than fat — and because of this you will in reality be getting smaller?

It does not really matter who you are, you can put yourself in the best position to succeed in your fat loss and fitness goals when you are performing properly conducted intense resistance training.

According to the latest study published in the journal Diabetes Care under the American Diabetes Association, people who are consuming one or more servings of fish even for a week can have a benefit of 25 percent less chances to incur diabetes later in life.

The study was conducted with over 20,000 men and women over a period of 5 years, in which participants were requested some information on their fish-eating routine. This is really a big encouragement for you and me to include fish in our diet.

In another study, it is proven that fish oil supplementation can be beneficial in controlling undue triglycerides in patients suffering from diabetes. Talking about other benefit, there is an apparent connection between eating fish or fish oil supplementation and the peril of coronary heart disease (CHD) and sudden cardiac death.

It is also interesting to note that women who include fish on their diet even once a week can enjoy a 40% lesser risk of CHD compared to women who are eating fish for less than once a month. For fish aficionado, it is good news because fish consumption for five times a week diminished CHD threat by 64% and general mortality by 52%. Very encouraging numbers, indeed!

The value of fish and fish oils can never be understated as studies after studies are showing their powerful power and benefits in dealing with common dreaded diseases affecting the modern society.

But be careful though because some studies also showed that swordfish, bluefish and king mackerel may contain elevated levels of mercury or methyl mercury. Thus, these fishes must not be consumed regularly.

At the same time, be anxious with shellfish as shellfish consumption even for once a week can contribute instead for the development of the diseases mentioned above. Researchers are suspecting that it may have something to do either with the way shellfish is cooked or the high cholesterol levels it contains.

My Detoxification Diet

Detox diet is now a popular health regimen! Search Google and you will be treated with more than a million results. And with the back-to-nature trend making a rage all over, we are expecting more and more people getting interested with detox diet.

So what is this detox diet? This is a technique which aims to eradicate harmful toxins out of the body to gain optimal health. When the body’s main organs are clean, you can expect for them to function at their best which could result into more energy and mental alertness.

Talking about detoxification, you have many options of modalities to go through. For instance, you can blend some natural ingredients together, consume uncooked and fresh food, eat fruits and green vegetables – and all of these are intended to promote bowel movement and urination frequency.

We are looking for the elimination of toxins away from the bodily systems. We all are exposed to so many chemicals wherever we go. From personal care to home care to foods, name it and I am sure somewhere somehow we are ingesting man-made chemicals. These chemicals could lodge in our body and produce damaging side-effects. Don’t think of cleansing only when you are already feeling something wrong because studies showed that eventually your body will be complaining when there is a build up of these destructive chemicals in the body.

Humans have the bad habit of only taking action when there is already a manifested hormonal disparity, weakened immune function, nutritional insufficiency and a bungling metabolism. Why would you wait when in fact prevention is the first and the best defense against any health problem?

We are used to visit the doctor only by the time when we are not feeling so good!

In addition to kicking those injurious chemicals, detoxification enhances mental concentration, improves digestion and produces more energy. Not to mention the fact that you can have a clear and glowing skin.

However, even though we are going the natural route, detox diet can also produce some side-effects. You should expect common headache at first few days especially for consistent coffee drinkers. Either reduce or do away with caffeine to lessen this problem.

Another thing is the occurrence of diarrhea – something you must be careful about because this can lead to dehydration and loss of electrolytes. On the other hand, constipation could occur. Prevent both by drinking more fluid. Other side effects related to detox diet are hunger, fatigue, acne, irritability and of course loss of weight. The last one could be the most welcome side-effect.

Not all people could go on detoxification diet. Expectant women and nursing mothers as well as young children are not advised to undergo the diet. Moreover, people suffering from some medical conditions may not be allowed to go on detox.

Medical conditions like anemia, eating disorder, autoimmune disease, cancer, terminal illness, some genetic diseases, diabetes, kidney disease, thyroid disease, and other chronic conditions could hinder a person to try this diet except if there is an approval and supervision from their care provider.

The detox diet should be done on a short term basis only. Doing this on a prolonged period can produce nutrient deficiencies particularly that of protein. Do it at least twice a year or every 6 months. If you are maintaining some medication, please don’t stop taking them unless you have the approval of your doctor.

After undergoing the detox program, you can resume with your usual lifestyle but with some modifications like eating more fruits and vegetables and doing regular exercise.

Though detox diet is still a relatively newcomer, a lot of people are already swearing of its effectiveness in enhancing their health. Well, nobody can beat personal experiences. The most important thing here is to always follow the natural path of detoxification to avoid any untoward side-effects. As always, consult with your health care provider for some advises and recommendations.

It’s detoxification time!
